- Do I need to sign up?
- No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. The sender creates a 6-digit code, and the receiver enters it to connect right away.
- Are my files stored on a server?
- No. The two devices connect directly, and files flow only between them. On networks that block direct connections, files pass through a relay server, but the relay only passes bytes along and doesn't store them.
- How large a file can I send?
- For the sender, there's practically no limit. When receiving in a browser, you can only receive up to what your device's storage and memory allow, and closing the tab discards the file being received. For larger files, use the apps on both sides.
- How long does a code last?
- It's valid for 10 minutes after you press “Send”. If the other person doesn't enter it in that time, it expires and you need to create a new one. The code also becomes invalid if you close the page or go to another menu.
- My transfer stopped midway.
- If either device loses its network connection, the transfer stops. Please create a new code and send again from the start. Browsers don't support resuming.
- Can anyone receive my files?
- Only people who know the code can. A new code is created for every transfer, so share it only with the person you're sending to.
- How do I know the received file matches the original?
- Once everything is received, we recalculate the checksum of the whole file and confirm it matches what was sent before saving it. If it doesn't, the file isn't saved and the transfer is reported as failed.
